Tenchou's review- Ore no Imouto ga Konna ni Kawaii Wake ga Nai 9

One word describes this episode- Creepy

Creepy- that is the first word most people would use to describe this episode, and I sincerely hope that this is not how most people play an Eroge. There's quietly enjoying the eroge, jerking off, admiring the story, shredding tears, etc. Then there is Kirino's screaming, rolling, laughing and generally disruptive and distrubing behaviour. I'm not sure what to say about Kirino at this point, throughout the series the writers have been pinning her as a tsundere that way on the tsuntsun side, similar to the eroge she was playing in this episode, except worse. I'm not sure if they will try to redeem her character in this season, if at all. After reading the light novel spoilers last week I realize that LN Kirino is most definitely not as unlikable as the Anime Kirino, her tsuntsun behaviour has a reason and her deredere side is definitely more vivid, and more often, than her anime counterpart. I hope the writers get back on track for the final few episodes and stick to the LN for some redeeming points, because she's definitely not as one-dimensional as she is currently.

This episode also featured the daily lives of Kuroneko and Saori; Kuroneko in her normal clothes seems almost too normal, as oppose to her "dark" side, she's moe, caring and adorable. She makes little stuff toys for her sister, watches Meruru with her (although, the DVD version is uncensored...was that really a good idea?) and blushes when Kyosuke calls her. Kuroneko has really earned a load of points the last few episodes, even though they weren't great, and she's likely to be push aside again for the final few episode to make way for more Kirino development, but currently she's definitely my favourite OreImo character, after Brosuke of course.

Now to the really shocking bits- Saori. I almost spilled my drink when this well-endowed and graceful lady appeared. How do one go from rich, graceful, beautiful and well-mannered lady to super-old-school Otaku is beyond me, but it's no surprise now that she deserves the name Saori, and I really look forward to her in a maid uniform next week!
They say rich people are often eccentric, this can be considered pretty good proof.
Overall, this episode, as creepy as it was, was relatively well-done. It did not feel disjointed, nor did it feel out of place, the pacing was good, and the episode seemed "whole" unlike the last two weeks. The little surprises (Saori, Kuro-normal mode) were interesting and cute, I can say this again: I look forward to next week's episode: There's no way my little sister could cosplay.

Again, thanks to Random Curiosity for screencaps.
